May 15-16, 2010 Shawn Perkins Cow Working Clinic-Intermediate Session
Santa Cruz Horsemen's Association
Scott and Joe Black: The Tennessee Cutting Horse

Scott and Joe Black showed the world what a great Foundation comes out of a few years of From Start to Foundation training. Scott and Joe learned the fundamentals of good riding from Krista, which laid a sound base for cow work with both Krista and Dave. Although they haven't spent much time on cows, their good, solid foundation sure did shine through at this Clinic.

Scott, Joe Black, Krista, and Dave can all be proud of the good work done here.

Joe Black doesn't too much care about the cow, or what it's doing, though he's learned to focus on Scott.
But he goes when the cow goes: because Scott asks him too.

He stops .. .. ..
.. .. .. when the cow stops .. .. ..

.. .. .. rocking back on his haunches .. .. ..
.. .. .. to be ready for the turn .. and go when the cow goes.

Joe Black has just about no instinct for following a cow. He'll chase a flag if he can get his nose right up on it. But Joe is willing to do just about anything for Scott. A dead run-away when they met, they've established a trusting relationship that allows Joe to give anything a try, in spite of Joe being 24 years old!

From Start to Foundation is always supportive of their students getting out in the world to try new sports, new disciplines, and new trainers.
